Rehan Ahmed and his parents, Naeem Ahmed and Musrat Hussain, have roots in Mirpur, Pakistan. The 18-year-old is now set to represent England in cricket's oldest format.

Last night, Rehan Ahmed, the Leicestershire player, made headlines as he was added to England's test squad for a tour of Pakistan. If he makes his debut against Pakistan, he will be the youngest English player to do so.

This dream of representing England is not Rehan's only. His parents have been there for him since day one. Naeem Ahmed and his wife have sacrificed a lot from taking him to cricket practice to coaching him all by himself.

Coming from a working-class family, it was ever so tough for Rehan and his family. But this is only the beginning of a cricketing journey that has been closely watched by many since he was only 13.

Rehan Ahmed Was Born To Pakistani Parents

Rehan Ahmed was born to Pakistani parents, Naeem Ahmed and Musrat Hussain. Rehan is one of five children of the couple.

The 18-year-old comes from a working-class family, with his father, Naeem, a taxi driver with his mother making sure everything sails smoothly at home.

The love for sports runs deep in the family. Naeem is a former cricket player and had a brief stint with a cricket team back in his homeland Pakistan.

Today Naeem is one of many fathers in sports who see their dreams being lived through their sons. Naeem threw everything into his work, and his son, Rehan, has been and will always be grateful for it.

From working late hours to earn more to waking up with tired eyes to take his sons to cricket games in the morning. He has been in every step of Rehan's cricketing journey that is soon going to reach another milestone.

But if it wasn't for his supportive mother rooting for him all this time, this would have remained only a dream. Even his father never forced him to become a cricket player. From day one, it has been Rehan's choice.

The cricket lover, Rahen can certainly recall many wonderful cricketing partnerships from the top of his head, but none match the one that his mum and dad have.

Rehan Ahmed Parents Nationality

Rehan Ahmed is English, while his parents, Naeem Ahmed and Musrat Hussain, hold Pakistani nationality.

His parents are native to Mirpur, Pakistan. The couple moved to Leicestershire in their late teens.

Naeem Ahmed, the father of the leg spinner who coached him during his formative years, moved to England in search of better opportunities with his wife, Musrat.

Naeem and Musrat are parents to five children, with Rehan being the middle of three sons. Their other two sons, Raheem and Farhan, have followed in their sibling's footsteps.

If Rehan is a leg spinner, then his older brother Raheem is a left-arm seamer who is a year older. Farhan, the youngest of the bunch, was born in 2008 and is an off-spinner who plays for Nottinghamshire, the place where Rehan began his cricket journey.

In 2017, Naeem and Musrat saw their son bowl at the famous Lord's cricket ground against senior England and West Indies teams. The 13-year-old clean-bowled Ben Stokes that day.

Last year in 2021, Rehan made his List A debut, and earlier this year, in May, Rehan made his first-class debut for Leicestershire. In his interview with Telegraph, Rehan mentioned that he had previously visited Pakistan and had been to Islamabad, Lahore, and Multan.

Rehan Ahmed Mother

Rehan Ahmed and his mother, Musrat Hussain, share a tight-knit bond.

Musrat is a mother to five children, including her three cricketing sons.

While Naeem made sure that their home kept running with his salary as a taxi driver, Musrat took care of their five kids. Last month Musrat was photographed with her family and interviewed by the Telegraph UK.

In the interview, Rehan shared that his parents had made many sacrifices to see him reach the position he is in today. Though she is not as obsessed with the bat and ball game as her sons, she remains an avid supporter of their cricketing journey.
