After the new documentary gave insight into Jimmy Akingbola's foster care upbringing, his marriage rumors with his partner are also doing rounds on the Internet.

Actor Akingbola is a 44-year-old Nigerian-British who was adopted at the age of two by a white British family who reared him among their biological children when he was two.

The Hollywood actor, who is now located in the US, has appeared in Ted Lasso, NCIS, and most recently, Bel-Air, a remake of the popular sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Akingbola frequently performed in British theaters before moving to the United States, portraying the Duke of Surrey in Henry VIII and Othello's title role. Additionally, he appeared in the television shows 'Death' in Paradise, Rev, and Holby City.

Is Jimmy Akingbola Married With A Partner?

No, Jimmy Akingbola is not married to a partner. He is quite active on Instagram, but there are no pictures of the actor with any woman who could possibly be his girlfriend.

He has not added posts with his female friends as well, which suggests that he is either single or does not want his life out in the public eye.

Having seen a tough childhood, Akingbola is quite sensitive, and it is likely that the actor will choose his life partner wisely. As an Aries, he will be perfect with either Sagittarius or Leo. When the case of opposites attract comes to play, he can even go with a Libra.

Jimmy's ITV documentary explores his own experience in foster care and his search for his foster family while examining the British care system. The program, which stars fellow actor Lennie James and former Olympian Kriss Akabusi, advocates for more exposure for those who are in foster care.

Speaking to the PA news agency on what more he thought should be done to assist youngsters in the care system, Akingbola said that he didn't think there was enough exposure.

The month of October is dedicated to adoption and foster care, but things don't always go as planned. After a day of visibility, the topic is subsequently relegated to the back of the refrigerator.

Jimmy Akingbola's New Documentary Takes A Deeper Look At His Parents and Family Life

Jimmy Akingbola had a lifelong desire to see Hollywood. Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, and Eddie Murphy were his role models while he was a boy living up in a white foster household. Aching to compile his own "encyclopedia of role models," he would hurry to the television whenever a person appeared on the screen.

Years later, we catch up with the British-Nigerian actor in Los Angeles, where he resides, and is getting ready to begin filming The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot Bel-Air. Realizing his dream has caused him to reflect on how he got here, and the profoundly poignant consequence is Handle With Care.

Jimmy Akingbola's Family

When Akingbola was a young child, his birth parents divorced. His father believed that Akingbola was not really his child and that his mother, who was unwittingly suffering from schizophrenia, had been unfaithful.

In 1979, she turned her kid over to social services because caring for him had become too hard to bear while she was facing a mental illness.

Although the actor was adored by his adoptive parents, the East London family the Crows, Akingbola acknowledges that while making the documentary, he experienced both "pleasure, laughter, and wonderful memories" as well as feelings of "sadness and desertion."

This profoundly intimate film explores what it was like for Akingbola to grow up in an east London white family. In a system where foster families are relatively uncommon, but over 40% of the children waiting to be adopted are, the issue of interracial adoption is complicated and contentious.

Akingbola does interview some well-known people who were fostered, such as the actor Lennie James and the athlete Kriss Akabusi, but his film isn't really about this argument or the 90 young people who enter the care system in England and Wales every day.

Handle With Care mainly focuses on Akingbola's personal experience. The lasting effects of abandonment and a loving foster family are what stand out the most.

Jimmy Akingbola's Biological Mother And Siblings

We encounter both Akingbola's elder biological siblings, with whom he reconnected as he grew up, and his foster siblings in the movie.

He discloses that while his foster siblings were amenable to participating in the documentary, his foster mother, Gloria needed some persuading.

She remarked, "I know you love me; you don't have to do that," and I said, "It's a love letter to you and dad and everyone." I believe it was a combination of factors.

Zoom and the documentary make evident Akingbola's love for Gloria, whom he hadn't seen in years due to work and the pandemic, especially given that she refuses to admit that her fostering efforts have been successful.

Sola Akingbola, his biological brother, is also well-known. A percussionist who joined Jamiroquai in 1995, Sola played on several of the group's biggest chart-topping songs.
