As The 'Black Ink' Airs It Tenth Season, Viewers Wonder If The Actual 'Black Ink' Shop Is Still Open

An African American–owned tattoo shop 'Black Ink' is still open. Previously, the studio used to serve the Harlem neighborhood in New York City. 

The tattoo shop is the biggest 'black-owned tattoo franchise in America. People can visit the studio for 'The Blac Ink Experience.' Young, vibrant tattoo artists from America will serve them. 

David Emanuel is the owner of 'Black Ink' who appeared as a supporting member in season 10 of 'Black Ink Crew.' 

'Black Ink' crew New York is the Television reality show that premiered on VH1 on January 7, 2013. The series aired for nine seasons and returned with ten seasons in 2022. The series shared the daily activities and employee drama in the tattoo shop.

The 10th season premiered on October 18, 2022, on Tuesdays at 8/7C on VH1. 

Is The 'Black Ink' Still Open?

Yes, the 'Black Ink' shop in Brooklyn at 50 W 125th St, New York, NY 10027, is still open in 2022. According to Distractify, the original shop located at 55 Lenox Ave in the Heart of Harlem is closed. The shop has undergone some changes in the past years.

Besides this, the shop in Milwaukee, Atlanta, Huston, and Indianapolis is running and open for business purpose. Even Ceaser asked about the new location to the staff and mentioned it looks better than the last shop in season 9.

However, the brand is expanding over the nation. Also, the show is still available on VH1; even the drama has developed many fans following. During episode five, fans shared their confusion about which artists are allowed to have their shop on Twitter. 

In the recent season, a new member has emerged in the show. Nychelle replaced the position of Krystel in season 10, 'Black Ink Crew.' Ceaser gave an ultimatum after she asked for a tattoo studio.

Nevertheless, Nychelle had also his tattoo studio. The artist seemed to have begun the tattoo career from a different shop. In season 9, Buc Vanity, Desiree, Van Johnson, Draya Penzo, and Suzette Samuel were newcomers. 

The Shop 'Black Ink' Is Located In Brooklyn

The shop 'Black Ink' is located in Brooklyn at 1357 Fulton St, Brooklyn, NY 11216. The artist shared the new shop on his Instagram page in 2021. 

Following the coronavirus pandemic, the brand added locations including Milwaukee, Atlanta, and Indianapolis. 

Also, in the trailer for season 9 of the reality series, they watched the shop on 113th St. in Harlem shut down. The reason for the closedown of the 113th St. location may be the result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nonetheless, the decision of Ceaser to close the shop permanently. In New York City, the resident and entrepreneurs faced the gentrification struggle. 

Ceaser developed the tattooing industry well, but the situation led to the building process of his company throughout NYC slowly. The owner shared the news with Distractify. The gentrification affected the neighborhood, and the proprietor increased taxes and rent per their demand. 

Previously, for the spin-off series of 'Black Ink Crew,' the shop was located in Chicago and Compton. 

Different Franchises Of 'Black Ink Crew'

According to 'BlackInk Tattoo Studios,' it is the prominent tattoo franchise in the United States. The 'Balck Ink' Crew succeeded in two spin-offs. The 'BlackInk Crew: Chicago,' a Chicago-based spin-off, premiered on October 26, 2015. 

The African-American-owned studio was located in Chicago, Illinois. Ryan Henry owns 9MAG. Van Johnson and Corey 'Phor Brumfield' Robinson are the tattoo artist of the studio. 

The Chicago-based show starred Don Brumfield, Charmaine Walker, Danielle Jamison, Liliana Barrios, Karis Phillips, Jessica Simpson, Darya Penzo, and Prince Spencer.

'BlackInk Crew: Compton' is the Campton-based spin-off of the series. The franchise was located in Compton, California. The show returned for the second season on February 21, 2022. 

Danny Kirkpatrick own the InkArtMusic (IAM) Compton. Lenoir Mitchell, Christian Thomas, and Nessie Blaze are tattoo artists in the shop. 

The original 'Balck Ink' crew was released on January 7. Ceaser was the owner of the Harlem, New York, located 'Black Ink.' Later he opens tattoo studios in Brooklyn, Atlanta, Orlando, and Houston. 

In season 1, owner of Pretty-N-Ink Crystana Lattimore, Richard Duncan, Alex Estevez, owner of Art2InkPuma, manager of Art2Ink Ashley Nicole Bermudez, JaKeita Days were part of the show.
