Meet Fuse Upcycle Nation Cast

Karrueche Tran As A Host & Executive Producer

Emmy Award winner Karrueche Tran hosts and executive produces the show. The actress and socialite is most known for playing Virginia on TNT's critically acclaimed series Claws, and she has amassed a fan base of over 12.7 million followers on her social media account.

As a personal shopper, Tran started her career in the fashion industry. She worked at Nordstrom in the Westfield Topanga shopping center in Canoga Park, California, from 2009 to 2012. Later, Tran worked in Hollywood as a freelance celebrity stylist.

She first came to the public's attention in 2011 when she started dating R&B musician Chris Brown. She also began developing The Kill, her own apparel brand. After playing Vivian Johnson on the Emmy-winning web series The Bay from 2013 to 2016, Tran rose to greater fame.

She was honored with three Daytime Emmy Awards for producing the show. She later received praise for her portrayal as Vanessa Ivy in the StyleHaul web series Vanity, funded by the Maybelline cosmetics company.

Peder Cho As A Judge

Peder Cho, 30, of Los Angeles, transforms designer bags into practically anything, from shoes to bikinis. Cho studied sewing for a little more than a year before quitting his job as an accountant to pursue his true passion.

He created a purse from a Gucci dust bag that the Dior Saddle and shorts modeled from Christian Louboutin dust bags.

His most popular video was upcycling a client's LV Keepall, which she had inherited from her mother, into three different bags. She intended to give her mother one of the bags. The touching narrative, the designer bag, and the meticulous design of the finished bags made this go viral.

Jérôme LaMaar As A Judge

Jérôme LaMaar is referred to in this article as "they/them" even though their pronouns are they/them and he/him. The Bronx-born designer, a true veteran of the fashion business, started working for Kimora Lee Simmons' Babyphat at the age of 15, later designed items for Beyoncé, and eventually rose to the position of creative director at Ivy Park x Adidas. They once opened the upscale shop 9J in the Bronx as well. After Beyoncé advised them to relaunch their label, they placed their store on hold. They re-released their neutral title, 5:31, this past year, along with a luxury range that features jackets, knits, and everyday clothing in highlighter-hued hues.

They launched their opulent pop-up store, 9J, in the South Bronx in 2015, changing perceptions of the neighborhood by displaying art, music, design, and fresh ideas, earning them a spot on the front page of the New York Times.

Julian Carter As A Competitor

Julian posts upcycled TikTok videos at night while also working for the government as a missile defense technician during the day.

His unique perspective as an aircraft engineer informs his approach to upcycle design. Julian can overcome difficulties and implement functionality to produce his straightforward yet eye-catching upcycle designs because of his distinctive perspective.

Dawn Emry As A Competitor

Dawn was up in Kihei, Hawaii, where the island's commitment to environmental protection inspired her to pursue it in all facets of her life, including her repurposed clothing. She started her upcycling quest by creating necklaces out of shells, marine glass, and old fishing lines.

Michael Gonzales As A Competitor

Michael, a multi-talented upcycle and former pre-med student, spends just as much time drawing, carving, and painting as he does sewing. His high-end upcycled streetwear collection has characteristic jagged edges and purposefully sloppy hand stitching so that nobody, not even himself, will be able to replicate his designs.

Ruben Isaza As A Competitor

He abandoned a dull career in graphic design and followed his passion into the field of upcycled fashion creation, being inspired by his mother and grandmother. His interest in upcycling, which uses 50% sustainable materials, comes from his goal to reduce the enormous volumes of fashion waste.

Tylo May As A Competitor

Hip-hop music serves as Tylo's inspiration and starting point for his upcycle designs. He has an insatiable appetite for creativity. His company, MYNTWave Clothing, creates fun, contemporary streetwear. Tylo is a minimalist who enjoys employing silhouettes and ensuring that the garments are worn by the individual, not the other way around.

Thommy Douglas As A Competitor

Thommy infuses all of his upcycle creations with his southern flair. He was born and raised in New Orleans, a city known for its striking fashion and brilliant colors.

Just two years ago, he launched his repurposed clothing business, ReMuse, as a result of widespread boredom and a desire for sustainability. Thommy's colorful and playful women's apparel designs, which range from patchwork corsets to jean skirts and various sorts of silk, represent his optimistic temperament.
