Anthony was released to live out on bond with his stepmother and stepbrother on Thursday, December 2019. After release, he was required to remain under supervision and submit to drug testing.

The jury gave Templet five years of supervised probation after he took a plea deal and pled no contest to negligent homicide in March 2021. However, Prosecutor Dana Gummings stated, what would time in jail do for a young man who never actually had a chance to be in school or learn about the world?

As part of his plea deal, he must obtain a high school diploma and choose between enrolling in school or getting a full-time job afterward. As per The Advocate, his record will be cleared if he complies.

The documentary series on Templet's story titled "I Just Killed My Dad" will be released on Netflix on August 9 this year.
