Actress and model Alexis Bledel hails from the United States. She is recognized for her roles as Emily Malek in The Handmaid's Tale and Rory Gilmore in the television series Gilmore Girls (2000–2007). 

Alexis Bledel also returned to her role as Rory Gilmore in the Netflix comeback miniseries Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life in 2012 and had a recurring part in Mad Men (2016).

In the Disney live-action version of Tuck Everlasting (2002), Bledel made her feature film debut as Winnie Foster. She later appeared in Sin City (2005) and Post Grad (2008).

Nanette (née Dozier), a gift processor and flight attendant, and Martn Bledel were the parents of Bledel. When she was eight, Bledel's mother relocated to Mexico City.

Bledel attended Baptist and Lutheran schools until earning his diploma in 1999 from Houston's Catholic St. Agnes Academy. To get over her nervousness, her mother suggested she attend community theater.

She performed in youth-oriented versions of Our Town and The Wizard of Oz. She was hired as a fashion model after being discovered at a nearby mall.

The WB comedy-drama Gilmore Girls, which aired for seven seasons from October 5, 2000, to May 15, 2007, starred Bledel opposite, Lauren Graham. She portrayed Rory Gilmore, a character who was the only child of Lorelai Gilmore (Graham).

In the 2006 rom-com I'm Reed Fish, Bledel played the fiancée of Baruchel's lead character alongside Jay Baruchel. She played Lena Kaligaris again in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, which was released in August 2008, after Gilmore Girls ended.
