His performance that season won him unanimous all-American honors along with the Big Ten's Nagurski--Woodson Defensive Player of the Season. Carl's terrific defensive end won him the Hendricks Award (top defensive end nationwide) and the Lombardi Award (as the best lineman in college football).

Nassib signed a $25 million contract with Las Vegas Raiders on March 27, 2020. He made Raider's debut against Baltimore and won in a 32-27 touchdown. In 2021, while being an active NFL player for the Raiders, Nassib came out of the closet, making himself the first to do so in NFL history. Raiders waived him off on March 17, 2022.
