Daniel Hernandez, also known professionally as 6ix9ine (stylized as 6IX9INE and pronounced "six nine"), was born on May 8, 1996. He was previously known as Tekashi69.

He was initially housed in general population in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn before being transferred to a different location for security reasons because Hernandez frequently got into fights with other inmates, notably Crips street gang members.
