Ayman al-Zawahiri, the advisor of late notorious terrorist Bin Laden, was killed during an air strike carried out by a CIA-operated drone. He is not alive anymore.

News sources talk about the death of Ayman al-Zawahiri in Kabul. He was killed in operation carried out by the United States.

Is Ayman al-Zawahiri Still Alive Or Was He Killed?

Al-Zawahiri was reportedly killed on July 31, 2022, by a drone strike carried out by the American Central Intelligence Agency in Kabul's Sherpur district early in the morning. A Taliban representative, Zabihullah Mujahid, also wrote on Twitter that an air strike was carried out in a residential house in Kabul's Sherpur neighborhood.

Although Zawahiri never became as well-known as his predecessor, Osama bin Laden, his death is still a significant victory for the U.S. in the war against Islamist terrorism. It holds more significance after the UN's recent warning that the terrorist organization is outpacing its rivals, like the Islamic State, as a long-term global threat, reports Politico.

Likewise, during a speech announcing the operation, President Joe Biden confirmed that he had permitted the killing of Zawahiri, who was still plotting strikes against the United States and its allies. He said that Justice had been served, and this terrorist leader was no more.

After the United States murdered al Qaeda's longtime leader bin Laden in 2011, an Egyptian named Zawahiri took charge. He formed Egyptian Islamic Jihad, a militant group that fused with al Qaeda in the late 1990s.

He is a physician who has been charged with a crime for his alleged involvement in the bombings of the American embassies in Tanzania and Kenya in 1998.

Who Is Ayman al-Zawahiri Wife?

The United States recognized Zawahiri early this year. He had been residing in a home in Kabul with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren for months.

Zawahiri had four wives in his lifetime. Azza Ahmed Nowari and Umaima Hassan are two of his wives whose name has been released on the internet. He wed his first spouse, Azza, a philosophy student at Cairo University, in 1978.

They had a fairly traditional wedding at the Continental Hotel in Opera Square with separate rooms for men and women and no music and pictures. They gave birth to a son, Mohammed, as well as four daughters, Fatima (1981), Umayma (1983), Nabila (1986), and Khadiga (1987).

After ten years of the birth of their twin children, Khadiga and Mohammed, they welcomed a daughter named Aisha 1997, who was born with down syndrome. Azza and two of her children, Mohammed and Aisha, died in an airstrike in Afghanistan by U.S. forces in late December 2001 after the September 9/11 attack.

Likewise, one of Al-three Zawahiri's surviving wives gave birth to a daughter named Nawwar in the first half of 2005. Following that, there had been no news about Zawahiri family members.

He had been residing in a home in Kabul with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren for months. The terrorist leader's habit of standing on his balcony allowed the U.S. to see him and establish his identification. Then, they identified him at the Kabul site by stacking several data streams.

President Biden received updates about the development of the target in May and June. That was when CIA Director William Burns, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, and national security adviser Jake Sullivan proposed the operation.
