Vanessa Guillen Murder Case Update - Has Her Murderer Been Caught?

Vanessa Guillen, 20, was murdered on April 22, 2022, by another soldier Aaron David Robinson and buried at Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, Texas, US.

Before authorities could arrest David, he killed himself with a gunshot in his head. While his girlfriend Cecily Anne Aguilar was arrested by Texas Rangers and held at the Bell Country jail. 

"Robinson killed Guillen, according to Aguilar's later explanation, because Guillen had seen Robinson's iPhone lock screen which featured a picture of Aguilar," according to a report published by the Texas Department of Public Safety on May 24, 2022.

Given that Aguilar was still married to another soldier and struck Guillen in the head with a hammer, Robinson admitted to her that he was concerned about being found out for breaking the Army's fraternization standards.

On April 22, 2020, a fellow army named Aaron Robinson fatally bludgeoned Vanessa Guillén, a 20-year-old US Army soldier, to death inside an armory at Fort Hood, Texas.

The victim had been missing for over two months when portions of her severed remains were discovered buried by the Leon River on June 30. Robinson left Fort Hood after learning of the discovery, and when authorities tried to find him in nearby Killeen, Texas, he shot himself to death.

Texas Rangers detained Aguilar and kept him in the Bell County Jail. On July 2, Bell County officials announced that Aguilar would be moved to federal custody due to being charged by the United States Attorney's Office Western District of Texas with one count of conspiracy to tamper with evidence. Mark Frazier and Greg Gloff are Assistant United States Attorneys handling the case for the federal government.

The woman charged with aiding in the dismemberment and burial of Fort Hood SPC Vanessa Guillen 2020 remains a trial date set. The jury selection phase of Cecily Aguilar's trial will begin on January 3, 2023, in Waco, Texas. Cecily Aguilar is identified as his girlfriend of Robinson and is alleged to have assisted him in dismembering and burying Guillen's body.

In July 2021, a grand jury indicted Aguilar on 11 counts relating to the passing of Guillen. The federal allegations include falsifying or destroying records related to a federal investigation and interfering with a witness, victim, or informant.

Aguilar allegedly assisted Fort Hood Spc. On April 22, 2020, Aaron Robinson was dismembering Guillen and burying his remains in a location close to the Leon River in Bell County. 

Documents state that when Aguilar was detained on June 30, 2020, she informed the detective's everything that had occurred. Aaron shot and killed himself early on July 1, 2020, as Killeen police approached him.

They were talking about the case updates, according to a court document and Natalie Khawam, the family's attorney, Army Spc. Vanessa Guillén's family filed a lawsuit on Friday seeking $35 million in damages from the Department of the Army. Guillén vanished from Fort Hood, Texas, in 2020 and was later discovered dead.

According to the lawsuit, Guillén "suffered mental agony, anxiety, emotional distress, physical harm, and death due to sexual harassment, rape, sodomy, and physical assault" between October 1, 2019, and April 22, 2020. Guillén's family is suing for $10 million in wrongful death damages and $25 million in bodily injury damages.

The dedicated solder Vanessa Guillen was born on September 30, 1999, in Houston, Texas, US. She was born at Houston's Ben Taub Hospital to parents Rogelio and Gloria Guillén, who were natives of Mexico's Zacatecas State. She was only 20 years at death. 

She was one of five siblings. Guillén attended Hartman Middle School and, in 2018, was in the top 15% of her class at César E. Chávez High School, according to her family.

She enjoyed academics, sports, and jogging. She also played soccer. Guillén joined in the US Army in June 2018 and underwent training to become a 91F, Small Arms and Artillery Repairer. On July 1st, 2020, Guillén received a posthumous promotion from Private First Class to Specialist.

Vanessa Guillen Autopsy Report

The reason why fellow soldier Spc. Aaron Robinson killed Fort Hood, Spc. Vanessa Guillen in 2020 is revealed in a Texas Department of Public Safety document submitted to a federal court.

The document, submitted on May 19 of this year, details a meeting with Cecily Aguilar, the sole defendant in Guillen's slaying. Authorities once questioned Aguilar about why her boyfriend Robinson would want to murder Guillen. According to the paper, she said that Guillen committed the act after seeing a picture of Aguilar on Robinson's phone.

According to the documentation, Guillen noticed a picture of Aguilar on Robinson's phone's lock screen. Given that Aguilar was still wed to a soldier who whacked Guillen with a hammer, he confessed to her that he was concerned about getting in trouble for breaking the Army's fraternization restrictions.

Aguilar was dating Robinson despite being married to another soldier, Keon Aguilar.

According to the report, Aguilar spoke to a prisoner at the Bell County Jail about the murder of Guillen. According to the record, the prisoner claimed that Aguilar informed her, "Robinson suddenly exclaimed, "I have an image in my head." He wanted to kill Guillen because he saw himself doing it."
