She joined the WBAL-TV 11 Weather Team as a meteorologist in 2011. Before working as a weather reporter for WBAL-TV 11, Marie worked as a broadcast meteorologist in Pennsylvania and Kansas.

The meteorologist grew up in Denver, Colorado, with her parents. Her hometown's extreme weather and hailstorms sparkled excitement for weather and science at a young age. Ava completed her Bachelor of Science in meteorology from the University of Kansas, with an emphasis in Journalism.
