Mary Elizabeth Coleman, an American lawyer, politician, and activist, represents Missouri's 97th district in the House of Representatives. She took office in January 2019 after being elected in November 2018.

Coleman served as an associate at Oppenheimer, Blend, Harrison, and Tate from 2007 to 2009. She was then a councilwoman for Arnold, Missouri.

From 2009 through 2015, she ran a solo practice before joining TuckerAllen. Coleman has additionally worked for the Thomas More Society, a law company that opposes abortion.

In November 2018, Coleman won a seat in the Missouri House of Representatives and took office in January 2019. She is also the head of the House Committee on Children and Families.

According to reports, Mary Elizabeth Coleman had an affair with Elijah Haahr. However, the politician has not confirmed the news yet. Moreover, it also has not been verified by any official source. 

One of the users on Twitter wrote about her extra-marital affair. She tweeted, "So, Mary Elizabeth Coleman was having an affair with the Speaker of the House. Personally, I didn't care. Not my business, right?"

"It wasn't until SCOTUS overturned Roe v Wade that I ever thought about her again, after reading an article in Vanity Fair."

Haahr specializes in product liability and personal injury law at Kutak Rock. His practice is authorized in Missouri and Oklahoma.

He held the positions of Speaker Pro Tem and Chair of the Emerging Issues Committee while serving in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was chosen in September 2017 to take office as Speaker of the House in January 2019. He is the only Springfield-born Speaker in Missouri history.

Coleman announced her candidacy for a position in the Missouri Senate in February 2022. 

Meet Mary Elizabeth Coleman Husband Chris Coleman 

At Saint Louis University, where Mary Elizabeth Coleman earned a BSBA in management, she also met and wed Chris, her undergraduate sweetheart. She enrolled in St. Mary's University School of Law after the couple relocated to San Antonio.

Chris is a 9th-generation native of Jefferson County, and his sisters and parents reside nearby. In 2009, they relocated and started constructing a new home in Arnold. Mary claims her passion for the neighborhood motivated her to seek government in 2012.

She was reared with her parents, brother, and sister in Georgetown, Texas, an Austin suburb. Her parents are currently retired educators. Her father waged political campaigns, participated in community service, and contributed to creating the municipal charter in our little town.

Her mother's father, who only completed the third grade, supported his family by working as a laborer on the railroad. Mary's mother was the first in her family to attend college due to his sacrifice, and she instilled a love of learning in Mary and her siblings.

Mary Elizabeth Coleman shares four children with her husband, Chris. 

While Mary was in her third year of law school, their second son was born. Their first son was born between her first and second year of law school. After graduating, Mary started working in private practice, drafting wills and trusts for families.

When Mary was 11 years old, she launched her first company, delivering subscription flowers to judges and attorneys in the courthouse and the town square.

She wrote to the then-Agricultural Commissioner Rick Perry, who personally paid for her license, explaining that she couldn't afford the agricultural license needed to purchase the flowers in bulk.
