Bill Russell, a legend of the Boston Celtics who played for the organization for 13 seasons and won 11 titles, passed away on Sunday, according to his family.

One of the most celebrated players in NBA history was Bill Russell, a legend in the league. Future players were greatly influenced by his defensive play on the court.

The former athlete was a commanding presence on the court as a defender and had a remarkable capacity for grabbing rebounds. Additionally, he received five NBA Most Valuable Player awards.

After the 1969 season was complete, he retired from playing the sport but continued to return for many years as a coach or executive.

Bill Russell was married to Jeanine Russell for the fourth time. Considering their age disparity, they must have had a sizable age difference. Although Jeanine's age has not been revealed, she appeared considerably younger than her husband, Bill. Similarly, Bill was 88 years old when he passed away. 

His Instagram feed demonstrated that he was active and frequently watched basketball games with his wife.

Bill stated that he and Jeannine "go along like Bacon & Eggs" in a 2018 Halloween post. The retired footballer captioned a picture of the duo watching the Los Angeles Lakers and said he was having a great day with his wife. They both seem content and cheerful, and Bill is sporting a Celtics hat.

Rose Swisher, his first wife, was black, but the following three were white. He was a Mercer Island, Washington resident for over four decades.

He wed Dorothy Anstett, Miss USA 1968, in 1977; their marriage ended in divorce in 1980. Russell married Marilyn Nault, his third wife, in 1996; their union lasted until her passing in January 2009. The renowned dramatist Charlie L. Russell was his older brother.

Karen is the sole daughter of Bill. In the essay, she describes how she occasionally had such privilege but that there were also occasions when she encountered severe racism and sexism. At one point, Karen questioned her father about how difficult it was to send her to Boston for Harvard Law School.
